About the Fire Pits
Who builds the fire pits?
Every single Forever Firepit is designed, cut, and welded by Jim Gentile — and Jim alone. There's no factory, no production line, and no team. Just one craftsman with 25+ years of professional metalwork experience building each piece by hand in his Connecticut shop.
What materials are used?
All fire pits are built from premium 1/8" American steel — heavy-duty, weather-resistant, and built to last a lifetime. Jim uses CNC plasma and laser cutting for precision patterns, combined with traditional hand-welding for strength and beauty.
Are these mass-produced?
Not even close. Every fire pit is built to order — meaning yours is made specifically for you after you place your order. No two pieces are pulled from a warehouse shelf.
Can I cook on my fire pit?
Many of our fire pits come with or are compatible with a removable cooktop, allowing you to grill, sear, and cook over real fire. Check the individual product listing to see if a cooktop is included or available.
What fuel can I use?
Our fire pits are designed to burn dry, seasoned firewood for the best results and minimal smoke. Some models (smudgepots) are multi-fuel capable and can burn wood, waste oil, and more.

Care & Maintenance
How do I maintain my fire pit?
- Allow the fire pit to cool completely before cleaning
- Remove ash and debris after each use
- Apply boiled linseed oil periodically to the fire pit body to prevent rust
- Apply your favorite cooking oil to any cooking surfaces to maintain the finish
- Store with a cover or in a dry place when not in use during off-season
Will it rust?
Steel naturally develops a patina over time with outdoor use — this is normal and actually adds character. Regular application of boiled linseed oil will protect the steel and keep it looking great for years.
How long will it last?
Forever Firepits are built from lifetime-grade 1/8" steel. With basic care, your fire pit will outlast anything else in your backyard — and likely get passed down to the next generation.
